Who needs a Tide stick?

I suppose you could say that I finally got used to walking along the Seine and passing Notre Dame everyday and that's when, while heading to grammar class one afternoon, I finally noticed something on the street that I simply had not noticed before...a street vendor that sold crêpes.  How had I missed this?!  If you've ever been to New York, Boston, Philadelphia or any big city, then you know about street vendors who sell pretzels, hot dogs, and perhaps roasted chestnuts.   In Paris, they sell crêpes!  And so, after a particularly difficult grammar class at which my professor kept telling me to grab my cheeks and squish my mouth towards the middle of my face so that I could make the "eu" sound,  I figured that squished mouth of mine deserved a break and I went to the vendor near Notre Dame and ordered a nutella crêpe.  The vendor cooked it in no time flat and then folded it and put it in paper!  What?  Pas d'assiette?  Pas de fourchette?  No plate?  No fork?  How was this going to work?  For this uncoordinated girl it didn't work so well, but wow,  was it "délicieux"!  Nutella was all down the front of me by the time I got to the metro station, but it was very much worth it and guess what?  I became quite experienced at eating those crêpes and only ruined two or three more shirts in the process.  Eating crepes on the streets of Paris while walking along the Seine with a stain on my shirt?  To me, that shows a sign of living the good life.  C'est la vie, non?

If you haven't already done so, please click on the video above to see how quickly they make these amazing treats!

Wow! That sounds awesome! And yeah, I agree that having nutella down the front of your shirt isn't really such a bad thing because after all, who cares about a stained shirt when you've just eaten a delicious hot crepe?

It's amazing how fast they can make those. However, I don't think I'd like Crepe because I dislike nuts a lot.

The video wouldn't work for me, so Ill have to try it later, but it sounds like you really had an awesome time in Paris! ( besides having you mouth squished) I remember last year when I went to Quebec with my family, there was this little crepe shop that we went to, and it was soo good! I had never had crepes before so it was quite the experience for me. Plus, I got to be surrounded by a bunch of french families!

Those look very tasteful, although I cannot figure out what it is they are made of... I have heard of crepes before and have heard they were very good but I have never actually gotten around to trying one of them. So my question is, what are they made of?

Well I wish I could have seen the video, but it wasn't working for me, but I will try to see if it will work later. I haven't had crepes before, but they sounded very tasteful, especially with nutella!!! I love nutella! And that is okay for have some down your shirt, I would just save it for later, perfect idea! I am liking Paris more and more now that you are telling us everything!

When I went to Quebec I had an apple crepe at a restaurant and it was very, very good. I don't think I would like the nutella one because I hate that stuff. What other foods do they have on the streets of Paris

Yum yum! Crepes are really weird (but good!). I'm not a big fan of fruit in my crepes, so nutella sounds just about perfect. And I also wasn't able to watch the video...

Those sound really good. Big change from all our city food. Must have been weird when you came back home and were looking for some of the food that you ate in France!

AH! I'm so excited to have crepes daily when I live/visit in Paris. Nutella is probably the best thing in the world to have with crepes.
I also thinks it's amazing how fast they made them in the video. C'est incroyable!

Those crepes look very good I had went to breakfast and got crepes but they had strawberries in them. The ones that were being cooked looked a lot better than what I had eaten.

Woah, I've never heard of or seen crêpes before. I watched the video and it looks very good! Not sure what it's made of, but if it goes with nutella than it must be good! Can't wait to travel and try out new delicious foods!

Sorry that the video isn't working for some of you, but I can show it in class tomorrow so that we can all see how amazingly quick they do this! And, not only can I provide an awesome crêpe recipe, but I think we should also now make them in class because I didn't know that some of you have never had a crêpe before! I have purchased the Nutella and am ready to go! You will LOVE them, although I never learned how to fold them and put them in paper like they do in the video -- should we try that? On peut le faire, non? (We can do it, right?)

Oh my gosh! Not to keep bringing up personal experiences but when I went to France every night after dinner my family and I would always go to this one crepes vendor right near our hotel. The whole family loved them! I always got chocolate or sometimes blueberry or strawberry shortcake, they even worked for my little brother who is allergic to all nuts and can't even eat anything that "may contain traces of nuts" so the nutella was perfect! I loved them and all the memories I have of being in France with my family!

It's so cool how they make them! Very fast..... I only had crepes once in France and thought it was the worst thing in the world other than vegetables! Whenever I saw anybody making crepes in markets I was sure to stay away. But maybe if I tried them again I would enjoy them more.

was it difficult to wash out in your laundry, the nutella I mean? I've always thought french food was better than most places, and even the street food is now awesome! I wonder- did the crepe spoil your dinner?

It's really amazing how they make the crepes really fast. I couldn't keep up with it. I've never had a crepe before. I would really like to try a crepe someday with nutella and hopefully someday soon, but I still want to know the ingredients in it.

Oh my gosh those look good. Except for the nutella i don't like that stuff. But with some jelly and powered sugar that would be good. It's awesome how fast they do it.

They make the crepes realllllly fast!
But I guess if you make crepes all day, it becomes faster and faster as you work I would think!

Ali's grandma used to make crepes for me and her, they were so good. We had fruit ones with powdered sugar. If i ever go to Paris I'm going to have a crepe everyday!

Wow, I think the food would be the best part of an adventure to france. In quebec its almost the best part. The scenery always tops it of course but still, food is magical when executed correctly as these experts do in the video.
